Motor Vehicle Services has strengthened its presence in South Wales with the launch of a fully equipped Class 7 MOT test centre, strategically positioned between Neath and Port Talbot. Designed to meet increasing regional demand for light commercial vehicle testing, the new facility provides a high specification, DVSA-compliant environment built for efficiency, reliability and long-term growth.

With this project, we were appointed to deliver a complete turnkey Class 7 ATL installation, transforming a newly created workshop space into a fully operational, inspection-ready MOT bay. Project Overview

At the core of the bay is a 5-tonne, 4-post 5.7 metre Class 7 ATL lift, configured specifically for light commercial vehicle testing. The lift incorporates integrated radius plates and play detectors, enabling accurate, consistent inspections while maintaining full compliance with DVSA testing requirements.

Supporting the lift is a fully integrated ATL equipment package, including:

  • PC-based brake tester for precise performance analysis
  • Combined gas and smoke emissions analyser for petrol and diesel vehicles
  • Headlamp aligner for accurate beam setting
  • Class 7 jacking beam for efficient under-vehicle inspection
  • Complete ATL ancillary package, including compliance signage and essential inspection tools

Every element of the installation was selected to deliver seamless operation across the testing lane, ensuring the customer benefits from a professional, streamlined and future-ready setup.

Turnkey Installation and Commissioning

This project was delivered as a fully managed solution. Our team handled equipment delivery, installation, calibration and final commissioning, ensuring all systems were correctly integrated and fully operational.

On-site training was provided to the Motor Vehicle Services team, enabling them to confidently operate the equipment from day one. By taking ownership of the entire process, we ensured the centre opened smoothly and began generating revenue without unnecessary delays.
